I have never been a very confident woman. Especially when it comes to my body. I have always been shy and brushed off compliments. Not too long ago, my husband complimented me and I scoffed as I usually do. Then he said, “If you keep blowing off my compliments, I’m just going to quit giving them.” Even though I didn’t believe his compliments, I certainly didn’t want him to stop giving them. I secretly live for his sweet words.
I realized at that moment, that if I didn’t find some love for myself, I was going to start hurting my relationship. That was where I drew the line. So, I set out on a journey to gain back my confidence and no longer blow off his compliments.
Why is it I didn’t believe what he said? Frankly, it is because I didn’t like my body very much. I decided that was going to have to change.
I spent last year focusing on my body and building my self esteem. I have lost weight, gained strength and endurance and boosted my self esteem significantly. Though compliments are still hard to accept (though I am working on it), I feel better when I look in the mirror. That is what really matters.
Since I started my journey, I have heard endless women say that they don’t feel good about themselves. That they cover themselves in front of their spouse. That they don’t believe compliments. That they don’t even get naked during sex!
Being confident in your own skin is an important key to a happy marriage. Feeling good about your body and yourself is vitally important to maintaining a strong relationship. I love this quote from Lucille Ball, “Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. “
Girls, it’s time to fall in love with ourselves again. It’s time to strip the layers and walk with our heads high.
It is time to believe your husband when he tells you you’ve got a great ass!
Because, I guarantee, to him . . . it is super hot!
I wanted to share some health and fitness tips that I have learned from my trainer as well as other great articles that I find along the way. Confidence is not only about our bodies, but I have found that by taking care of my body I feel inspired to believe in myself in other ways too. To take risks I might not normally take. To feel proud.
It is time to feel sexy again ladies.
Take control of your body.
Feel good again with your clothes off. Eat well, exercise and fall in love with yourself again!
What are you waiting for? Let’s Get Naked!

Stay tuned for great articles and tips directly from me and my own personal trainer.
YAY!!!! Tammy. I found that as I achieve more and more fitness, my body is able to move in ways and positions that make ‘getting naked’ a lot more FUN!
Hi Robyn! Feeling good about our bodies definitely has it’s benefits!!! Thank you for stopping by! Good to see you.
I am very excited to begin this journey. It is about time I still have the baby weight but the first baby is almost 10. Thank you for being brave and sharing.
Getting baby weight off is a challenge. My boy is 6 and I was carrying around the 15 extra pounds I gained with him. Thank you for your kind words. I look forward to sharing things with you that help inspire you to feel good about your body. We all deserve that.
My husband did stop giving me compliments for several years when it came to how I looked because I brushed them off all the time. Lesson learned to say ‘thank you’ without a ‘whatever’ or ‘yeah, I’m not skinny/pretty/nice looking/wearing a nice outfit today’ attached to the thank you. You look GREAT! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you for sharing the lesson that you learned the hard way. You offer a great piece of advice. We need to say “Thank you” when we get a compliment and leave it at that. Something I am still working on 🙂 Thank you for your kind words. It means so much!
I was wondering, is your husband back to giving you compliments? If so, what changed?
