Today is my wedding anniversary.
My husband and I met in the 7th grade. We became an official couple when we were 14 and have been inseparable ever since.
We have been together for 25 years and have been married 16 of those 25.
Wow! That makes me feel a little old. Could it possibly be that long?
This is us on Grad Night in high school.
This is us today.
Our relationship is a fairy tale.
A modern and real life fairy tale.
One that is not all roses and love songs.
It is a true love filled with tears and hurt and bliss and passion. It is messy and ugly. It is sweet and sincere. It is exhausting and consuming. It is passionate and enduring.
It is love.
We have triumphed thru times that I didn’t think we would make it thru. And, along the way we have learned essential things that have helped us on this journey toward happily ever after.
We continue to learn about each other every day. How to be better spouses. Better people.
I am proud.
Sharing my life with someone who loves me with abandon, who is willing to grow with me, who is my dearest friend is a gift beyond measure.
